You Are Not Eligible

I applied for a job yesterday. At 8PM. On a Friday night. Within 10 minutes, I got the following (automated, of course) response:

Thank you for your interest in the position of XXXX. Based on your responses to the application questionnaire, you are ineligible to submit an application.

So... Company X, are you saying that my not having a Bachelor's degree (in a completely unrelated field, btw) is somehow more important than my 26 years of experience in this field? Or are you saying this isn't really a remote job and you just don't want to be upfront about making people relocate?

Look, I'll be the first to admit that I'm probably not the magical unicorn wizard ninja you're hoping to find out here. But I can't help but wonder -- if you've done such a bad job configuring your robot gatekeepers that qualified candidates can't even get in front of human eyes, then has it ever occurred to you that you're likely missing out on a ton of candidates that come pretty close to being that magical unicorn wizard ninja, all because your people aren't willing to do the job that people should be doing??

Stop relying on the machines for everything, and do your own job once in a while.
